History
Founded as a mission in 1887 by the Rev. Francis Johnstone Murdoch, St. Paul's has deep history in the city of Salisbury and in the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. The church was consecrated in 1912 by Bishop Joseph Blount Cheshire, Jr. as 'St. Paul's Church, Chestnut Hill', designating the neighborhood where it stands, near the historic Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Our history continues to this day. We've recently baptized Francis Murdoch's great-great-great grandchildren at St. Paul's!
