A small town church with a huge heart for the Gospel

Once you’re here, you’re one of us.

We use technology to stay in touch - we love the church chat! So we stay close, even if we’re not in the same place.

You don’t have to be local to feel like you belong here.

We serve with Fr. Cathie Caimano in a new way that we discerned along with her: two Sundays a month, task-based contract. ‘We are the church’, it says on our welcome, and we take that seriously.

We’re all the ministers - all called to share the Gospel and lead ministry.

Cathie is our shepherd.

St. Paul’s has a rich history in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Salisbury. Founded in 1887 by the Rev. Francis Johnstone Murdoch, who also established twelve mission churches in and around Salisbury, St. Paul’s has always been a ‘church of the people’. It was founded ‘to promote the spiritual needs of the people working in the mills.’

We are small in size and traditional in orientation, but we are adventurous for the sake of bringing church into the future.

We use Planning Center for our communication and administration (it’s easy to use and very inexpensive, since it’s sliding scale). Check out our church portal HERE.

We’re the founding chapter of Trexo: a gym for your soul, where we learn ancient Christian practices and incorporate them in our lives as part of stretching and strengthening our capacity for love, peace, meaning, and joy.

And we’re a foundational part of Fr. Cathie’s concept of ‘Cage Free Ministry’ - how to serve God and our neighbor in new ways, beyond the confines of the 20th century institutional framework. We do this by serving on task-based contract with Cathie, which provides the ministry we need and can afford. It also helps equip us to be the ministers we’re called to be, and grow the church in new ways.
